Michael’s Children to Make Footprint and Handprint at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (Updated)

According to MichaelJackson.com and the Estate of Michael Jackson, tomorrow will highlight yet another event in immortalizing the legacy of Michael Jackson. The legendary forecourt at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre will now induct Michael’s handprint and footprint into cement using his sequined glove, legendary loafers, and one more thing–his children. That’s right, Prince, Paris, and Blanket will impression his prints tomorrow in Hollywood on behalf of their father. Michael’s prints will sit alongside Marilyn Monroe, Fred Astaire, and Elizabeth Taylor’s.

Luckily for us who won’t be attending, it will be streamed live at this site: http://www.livestream.com/michaeljackson?rsvptoeventid=426940&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=rsvp1&utm_campaign=michaeljackson&utm_content=MJforever

And just in case you didn’t catch the ceremony live, here is a link to watch the highlights: uffpsiaq

Gardner Elementary Establishes Music Lab in Michael’s Name

Source: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2012/01/michael-jackson-school-gets-music-lab.html

The Gardner Street Elementary school, where Michael attended sixth grade (and the same school that rededicated the Auditorium to Michael) has now dedicated a music lab to him. In a little something called The Michael Jackson Music Education Lab, students will be taught how to read music, play the piano; and amongst other things, how to arrange music. It is said that the lab was built with donations from various local community organizations and parents. This coming Monday, an open house will be held for students and parents in honor of this special event.

With that in mind, here is the video from Michael’s original dedication ceremony on October 11, 1989.

Today Is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

I’m sure all of you understand that without the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s accomplishments and remarkable leadership during the Civil Rights Movement, we would very likely not have Michael Jackson’s inspiration in all of our lives. That’s why it is essential we should take part in honoring the memory of Dr. King today, given much of the road he has paved for America and Civil Rights.

Of course, we know (but not to be surprised) Michael is no stranger to paying homage to a man who long paved the way for him. In one known instance of honoring Dr. King, Michael held a celebration at Neverland for 100 inner-city children who excelled in school. The source from this brief story comes from MichaelJackson.com and that is all the information they’ve given, however, we can only imagine what great inspiration those children must have experienced celebrating Dr. King with one of Dr. King’s proofs that this world can be a better place.
